The Best Breakfasts Before Your Workout
It’s 6 am - your alarm goes off and the first thing that pops into your head is that you need to get ready for your morning workout. This hour is usually spent quiet, getting dressed, and maybe sipping on a cup of coffee to open your eyes before you hit the studio. Most people, however, skip over the most important part of their morning routine, which is breakfast.
It has been stressed over and over how important eating breakfast is but we are going to say it again because it is even more important that you come to a workout with something in your system. How can you put everything you have into a workout if you have nothing in you? We picked some of our favorite breakfasts to share with our clients to prevent our clients from ever being hungry during a class.
We asked one of the stRIDE co-owners, Tori, what her favorite pre-workout breakfast was an “oatmeal!!!!!!” was the immediate response. She takes pride in her morning oatmeal creation and tops her rolled oats with nutzo nut butter, chia seeds, flax seeds, cacao nibs, blueberries, and cinnamon. Superfoods are super easy to add to this so she LOADS. THEM. UP.
This breakfast is super simple to make and also is super Instagram worthy (let’s be real that is really important). Getting in your carbs and healthy fats before your workout will give you all the energy you need to sprint in spin class or give your best burnout in boxing.
We LOVE smoothies because the flavor opportunities are endless, this is a perfect way to spice up your breakfast every morning. We also love adding as much spinach as possible to our smoothies because it is the perfect way to sneak in extra greens in your diet without even tasting it. Pro tip: put everything you want in your morning smoothie in a plastic bag or container then when you make it in the morning your ingredients are ready to go, just add liquid!
Do you have a go-to breakfast that you swear by before a workout? Tell us about it! We want to share with our stRIDE community the best way to make the most out of their workout and this always starts in the kitchen.
