Kombucha is an up and coming phenomenon but goes far beyond trend, there are so many benefits to adding a few servings on kombucha to your diet. Kombucha is a fermented tea that contains bacteria and yeast, sounds scary but it really is good for you. Think about the benefits to probiotics and put those benefits into a cute glass bottle with a hint of flavoring and you have kombucha. Kombucha may be new to Whole Foods but it has been around for over 2,000 years and has originally brewed in China because it was believed it would ward off cancer. Now it has transformed into a huge business and distributed all over the world to help issues from colds to bloating.
Probiotics are deemed the number one benefit to drinking kombucha, the healthy bacteria can help with functions such as digestion, inflammation, and even weight loss (think, it keeps everything moving). Kombucha is also known to have very similar benefits to green tea such as increase calorie burn (because everything is moving), improve cholesterol levels, and helps blood sugar.
