How To Start Your Fitness Journey | stRIDE Spin & Fitness

The New Year is the perfect reason to get started on crushing your health and wellness goals. Sometimes, the hardest part of getting in shape is figuring out how you are going to do it. At stRIDE, we want to make this process as inspiring and fulfilling as possible. We wanted to share a few of our tips on how to get started on your fitness journey.

 

Schedule Time

Be honest with your schedule, when can you add an extra hour that is dedicated to a workout? For our working clients, we love 5:45 am or 6 pm, this way you still have time before and after work to get things done.

 

Be Realistic

Starting a fitness journey does not mean you need to go to the gym every single day. Do not burn yourself out immediately because this may result in ending the journey altogether. Start small and do what feels right for your body, as you become more skilled, add days on. Make it a gradual growth for longevity and best results.

 

Ask Questions

Every person in the studio was once new, and we promise no one looked like a pro the first time they took a class. Do not be afraid to ask questions or tell the instructor you are new, we are a team who takes pride in lifting each other up! Let the other clients support you on your journey, we promise it makes the experience much better.

 

Be Consistent

Create your workout schedule and stick to it. If you are starting a new wellness diet, write out your goals and stick to it. There will be days you are tired, there are days you really do not want to leave your house, there are days you will have cravings, it is normal. It takes 30 days to break a habit, you are worth much more than 30 days.

 

Invest

Nothing makes working out more fun than new workout gear. Invest in new pieces of athletic clothing that make you feel good because it will make your workout better.

 

Set Specific Goals

Hold yourself accountable by setting specific goals. Workout x times a week, cut out specific types of foods. Give yourself something measurable and crush it!

 

Get Uncomfortable

No one ever said that getting started was easy but remember that getting started is the hardest part. We pride ourselves on getting our clients uncomfortable because results never come from the comfort zone.
